A Note from Bentley
I was born on New Year’s Day and adopted on Valentine’s Day, the love day! I’m an F1B Goldendoodle, which means I’m a pup from a purebred Poodle (named Zeus) and an F1 Goldendoodle (named Cookie). To sum it up in easy terms: I’m 25 percent Golden Retriever and 75 percent Poodle. If we ever meet, you would first see how handsome I am, then notice how calm and mannerly I behave. In fact, my AKC registered name, Bentley the Gentleman, is very fitting.
It is very important to me to let you know rescue dogs need a fur-ever home. Keep this in mind when you are adopting. A therapy dog does not have to be a purebred breed. We come in all shapes and sizes! And you don’t need to have a dog to volunteer to be a handler.
When not working in my role as a therapy dog, I like to go for car rides and “walkies,” and enjoy a chunk of cheddar cheese from time to time. If we meet, I’ll offer you my paw and gesture, “nice meeting you.” You’ll be surprised to find me watching the wind blow through the trees or curiously gazing at the moon and stars while I ponder the hidden mysteries of life.
People have said to me when I look into their eyes, “it’s like he’s looking into my soul.” Well, I’ll never tell. All I know is this: God created me with a purpose, and I am living that purpose. I was created to give love to people in need, and who doesn’t need a wet nose and a fluffy head on their lap?
